Environmental Policy

Due to its specific activities of dangerous waste disposal, Barricalla S.p.A, is not only in full compliance with the existing laws and regulations but also actively strives to improve environmental management and monitoring in order to develop and achieve increasingly efficient and effective means to prevent and manage risks, to protect the environment in the context of sustainable development.

Barricalla is aware and is particularly sensitive to the potential impact of its activities and for this reasons it aims to achieve and maintain the highest operational and control standards so to guarantee environmental protection in the short, medium and most importantly long term.

In order to protect the environment and improve its operational performance, Barricalla is constantly involved in:

  • promoting among all of its personnel strong environmental awareness aimed at sharing information and know-how of the special professional activities in which the employees are involved, both for personal protection and for the protection of the environment in general, maintaining high levels of professional conscience among its employees.
  • regularly reviewing the site's environmental performance in order to verify the results obtained and to program future goals so to further improve performance.
  • define objectives and environmental programmes particularly in regards to to the problems related to the reduction of waste , protection of the environment and transparency of the plant's activity.
  • Obtain all the necessary resources to achieve the planned environmental objectives in the context of an overall reduction of the plant's environmental impact.
  • sSelect contractors and suppliers also taking into account the environmental performance they can provide to the site.
  • Share information about the state of the site, the initiatives to improve it and the results achieved, with the public, and especially with those institutions, such as schools, which focus on learning and training, and to environmental organizations.
